Ride with caution....

With the onset of a New Year, many people would have set resolutions and are ready to hit the gym, Tarmac or their local park of training ground. This is great and I but please air on the side of caution...

I've been practically chomping on the bit dieing to get out and ride a new Time Trial bike that I took delivery of before Christmas, but alas the weather has been such that the risk of loosing the front wheel on a icy patch has far outweighed the benefit.

I was out riding with some friends the other day when we crested a hill and as we did so, a friend lost the front wheel on a patch of ice momentarily before we all went down. This resulted her breaking her wrist and a number of fingers!!

So if you really need to ride, my advice is to take the Mountain bike out or leave your weekend ride until later in the day when the frost has melted.... Its just not worth spending 6 weeks out with a fractured or broken limb....
